Question on Zoom (movie included)

Hello everyone.
New Mavic Pro, Samsung Galaxy S4 (Apple iPad Mini 4 in the mail and arriving soon) and DJI app.

I have been practicing a few things and wonder if there is a way to smooth out the zoom.
As you can see in the movie here each "jerk" is a press of the little button to the left to zoom in.
I think I expected a smooth zoom. Pretty sure I am doing it wrong lol!
Any help is appreciated.

You won't have a smooth zoom with the Mavic's digital zoom.

You can just shoot 4K and do it in post though.

Didn't know you could zoom in video mode. I'm always in 4k though, and it definitely won't zoom in for 4k. At least that's the error it gives me. Only let's me zoom in photo mode.

Move the aircraft forward smoothly and it's the same as a smooth zoom

No zoom in 4K indeed, since it doesn't have leeway to reframe. Only lower resolutions do.

It's like any digital zoom, always better to shoot full size and crop later anyway.

Sony Vegas 14, for video.
Photoshop for pictures.
