Bought and Tested the DJI RC Plus on Ebay that claims to work with the Mavic series of Drones. Guess What? IT DOES WORK! I'll tell you why.

Aha, thanks for that. Looks like the person I bought it from had already unchecked "Auto Check for Updates". Good idea! Here's a screenshot showing the slider disabled. This is in DJI Fly's Settings (Profile -> Settings) -> About:

Yesterday I changed our Matrice M300 from the Johanniter drone squadron from Smart Controller to the Dji Rc Plus, this took about minutes. A strange policy from Dji, our small Matrice M30T drone comes with a Plus controller, our large M300 drone comes with the Smart Controller. Now we can fly both drones with the Plus😀

My new to me RC Plus arrived today. In like new condition, no scrapes, scratches, rub marks anywhere. Internal battery showed 17 cycles. No problems with pairing to my Mavic 3 Classic, logged in as usual. Did a small test flight in the yard just to try out. Sticks feel fantastic! Disabled auto updates since that was the first thing to pop up when I opened the Fly app.

To the people that have purchased this controller: What type of case are you using? I'd like to get a soft or hard case that can handle my Mavic 3 Classic, the RC Plus and 2 batteries.

Hi I bought my case from Amazon, it fits my RC Plus, the Mavic 3 Pro, 3 batteries and the charger as well as accessories. I will change the inlay again so that it looks better. Everything fits inside, you can also carry it with the shoulder strap.IMG_9487.jpeg

I also bought anti-reflective film from Brodit to protect the display of the Plus, it's wonderful, nothing reflects anymore and the touchscreen is great to use.

That looks perfect. Can you give me the Amazon link, or advise which model this is? Thanks

i think when you search by the typ or seller you will find them also by amazon.com

Can anyone advise what size those mounting screw holes are between the access ports (SD card, HDMI, etc.) Lppk like maybe 4 mm?

EDIT: Found an online manual for the controller, and specifies it's a 4m thread

It should be 3 mm I have measured the inner diameter The fasteners at the bottom to attach a holder have 4 mm

Here is my new bracket, so the controller hangs horizontally 😀 I have modified the Dji strap and it now fits perfectly. I'll test the holder tomorrow.

Got the case today. A little work with a Dremel tool made it easier to trim away the molding to let the RC Plus sit in it. Then had a piece of closed cell foam to lay in to separate the controller and drone better. Took about 45 minutes. I have it upside down for a flatter fit, but it has the hinged sunshade that allows the sticks to always be mounted
