I've read many horror customer service stories buying a DJI drone from DJI directly & I am a little overwhelmed by so many Amazon people selling.

So... I am wondering where you buy from or would buy from in the future & why you would? Thank you.

I am pretty sure I am steering towards the Mavic Air.

If not buying directly from DJI, it's best to buy from an authorized DJI dealer.

I’m looking at Adorama right now. Prices are very consistent for both base and fly more packages. I would buy from an authorized dealer whom you don’t have to pay taxes for your state.

Okay thanks for the replies. So Target and Best Buy are not authorized dealers? Is there a better Amazon seller?

This may be a dumb question... are different colors like the red any different of a mavic air drone than a white or gray?

I did some research. Amazon has two dji official store. Some reviews and people here said they were shipped from China. No tax and stuff. Be very careful of the authorized dealers on amazon. I think some shops are not really authorized because I googled the contact number of a few amazon shop. I think they had the same name as the authorized shops listed on DJI but they are just copying the name. The listed phone number had very bad reviews on other sites such as yelp. They were apparently selling used drones or refurb as new ones.

I just order from newegg since they are trustworthy and listed as authorized dealer. Mine shipped from CA and I paid another extra $10 for faster shipping.

Beware that some amazon shops adds tax and some doesn't.

I have amazon prime so i bought mine shipped and sold by amazon.

Both are authorized DJI dealers. The main con from buying there is that you'll pay tax. You'll be able to pick up up within the hour though (assuming they sell what you want).

If buying from Amazon, the best deals are the Prime deals since they will ship quickly. And if Amazon is the shipped, the return process will be easy if something doesn't arrive as expected.

I just pulled the trigger on my 3rd drone, I’m getting the Mavic Air in Flame Red. I went with Adorama and got the Fly More combo since I know I’ll buy at least an extra battery for it and a bag.

After I bought it, I looked at Newegg and had the same deal for a lower price, sold by Beach Camera. I dealt with Beach many of times and they are a good seller.

I wanted to get one from Best Buy to use up prepaid cards I got but they did not have a red one and I’ll get hit with tax.

Anyway, get one and enjoy flying.

Hey, thanks for the info! I looked on Newegg and saw a bunch of their combos but which one did you choose? Is the one with the goggles worth getting. I'd rather have two extra batteries. Will you be able to attach the exact link?

Also, when people mention the don't like where the mavic air uses Wi-Fi... does this mean that when I'm flying the Drone it will eat up all my data? Thank you

I do almost all my drone business with Carolina Dronz. I have had very good experience with them and they are within 20 miles of where I live. They are and authorized DJI dealer, they do repairs if needed and have had any parts I have needed. Great customer service and just moved to bigger building and having a grand opening for the new store Apr 28th.

No. Your mobile device does not have to be connected to the Internet when flying. If you're using a phone and you don't want to use any data (like when downloading the maps), just put your phone in airplane mode.

I got it from newegg and I didn't get the Goggles. I just got the fly more combo.

By wifi, it does not eat your data. I think the controller uses wifi to connect to the MA. People said it is bad due to interference, I fly it at home and I can easily see 30 SSID saturating all channels and I don't have an issue.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up... can you mention what you paid?

WiFi mode is not on your phone. It’s the mode of transmission generated by the remote to contact your drone.

You also put your phone on airplane mode when using one. This is to prevent it from taking calls or receiving texts while flying a drone.

I just got the regular fly more combo with the extra battery. It comes with an official bag from DJI.

I was hoping Costco would have them. They had the Typhoon H which i missed then got the Mavic Pro for 799.

I was also thinking about getting the Mavic Pro at Target price $999.00 & had a $150 gift card... I'd only do so if they also matched Costco's $799.00 price since I've read & saw on YouTube videos how the Air video & picture quality is better.
