I really don’t use omnis at all, I want all my signal in front of me not behind.
The ones I have look very similar

PS: I do have some stock Mavic controllers so I guess once in a great while I will use a Omni

I see what your saying, but explain why it's not a good idea, you would be ampping what you want the bird to do, and bird would be ampping what we want to see back. Just sounds like just what were trying to get to.

I’m not saying it doesn’t work, I’m saying I 95% of the time use panels simply in my opinion,a stronger signal in front of me and I like a strong signal in the mountains. It seems the rocks just eat signal 89146E70-2628-4F4B-B2F0-E496F83A8F07.jpeg

wow you have many drones!!!! and yup mine is the same one from what it looks like... yes that is true about the antenna signal being out in front!! I may have to get me a flat panel and try it

you talking to me?

Who ever can answer.

I am not sure I understand what you are saying the right side of the remote controller is just RX there is no TX well from what I can tell that is.....so you can't cant TX something if there is no TX to start with....

hence why there is no green light flashing when there is amp hookup to it

I my opinion, with the panels I’ve never seen the need to have a birdside amp. Unless you want to fly more than 11 miles say with a Phantom 3 then maybe. As it stands now the mavics cannot go any further by limit of controller. Even with say Litchi or FPV they with not let you either. They limit you to less than the stock controller
In a autonomous flight

I would like to try the 8 watt amps BUT it sounds like the ones that are out don't put out 8 watts!!! :( more like 5 watts :( there was a thread about this some where

I'm saying forget right side only amp left (tx) do the same on bird only amp what it is transmitting back.

ya but mnoutdoors has a good point not sure if that is really need when there is a limit set on distance from my understanding that is

Keep in mind he is fly alot higher than us too, flying from a mountain.

We'll see what you think when you test, your in a Hill area, I'm curious.

Of the 8 watt (5W ) (depends on who you buy them from ) (they appear the same )ones I’ve tested (6) they all will output more than the black amps called dragon amps (4W) ( if you look at them it looks more like a dove than a Dragon) now they both gain from the RC controller as a product of time ( the RC increases over time) in most cases they will get 2.5-3dbm over the dragon-dove amps. 3dbm more than say 36dbm on the dragon-dove amps in one test I have tested 42dbm I use both, and have been pleased with both, the bigger ones cost more.about 15 dollars more if you shop around
